Hi! My name is Claire. I attended Benilde-St. Margaret’s High School, where I participated in theater productions and choir. Following my passion for education, I majored in education and minored in theology education at Saint Catherine University. I have classroom teaching and tutoring experience with grades K-8 at both private and public schools and continue to stay up-to-date on current pedagogy and teaching methods. 

During college and postgraduate, I tutored pre-kindergarten through middle school students in math, reading, science, and social studies. I continue to tutor math and reading at Kay Tutoring. While tutoring, I prioritize incorporating students’ interests into the course material to make it engaging and interesting for each student. I love that tutoring allows me to create personal connections with each student, and I adore reigniting their excitement for learning.

Currently, I work at Kay Tutoring as the Director of Academics and tutor elementary and middle school students. Before coming to Kay, I worked as the recruitment and hiring manager for College Nannies and Tutors. Additionally, I have worked as a dance instructor at my mother’s studio for over fifteen years, teaching various dance styles to all ages. I also worked as an administrator for my husband’s family-owned ice cream shops. Having helped grow two family-owned businesses over the last 10+ years,  I bring to Kay Tutoring my intimate knowledge of small business operations.

In my free time, I enjoy baking, crafting, and frequenting dog-friendly restaurants with my dog, Honey.
