Mabel
Hello, I’m Mabel! I am from Argentina, where I attended Universidad Nacional de Córdoba for my bachelor’s degree in Translation. I then came to Minnesota to pursue a master’s degree in speech communication at Minnesota State University, Mankato. I lived in Belgium for 12 years, where I learned to speak French. While there, I enjoyed volunteering at St. John's International School, leading activities with teachers and parents, and volunteering as a Spanish teacher to high school students in preparation for their IB Spanish exam. Once I returned to the United States, I joined The International Spanish Learning Academy, where I gained a passion for tutoring. I still work there to this day! I am also currently a French instructor for the French Alliance, so I’ve been fortunate to continue working with students in both French and Spanish day-to-day.
My goal for students is to enhance their cultural awareness and sensitivity to customs and cultural differences in language teaching. I take pride in bringing out the best in people while encouraging dialogue on furthering oneself and fostering equity and social change. For Kay Tutoring, I support students in the following courses: regular k-12 Spanish and French, honors Spanish and French, AP French, AP Spanish, and IB Spanish.
Outside of tutoring, I enjoy spending time with my husband, traveling, trying foods from different cultures, and exploring the arts and nature. When possible, I love spending family time with my three adult children.
I am so excited to share my languages, knowledge, and experience with you. I can't wait to get to know you and your interests!
