Ingy

Hello! My name is Ingy, and I’m the Executive Lead of Kay Tutoring's Math Department. In addition to tutoring ACT Math and ACT Science, I also tutor the following subjects: math for grades K-12 (including AP Calculus AB and BC, IB Math, as well as through all levels of math in higher education). Outside of math tutoring, I’m also an academic coach who helps students with executive functioning and study skills.

I graduated magna cum laude from the International School of Choueifat in Egypt, which is part of the SABIS network of schools that includes the International School of Minnesota. My school recruited me into tutoring at the young age of six through its peer tutoring program. I found the experience so enjoyable that I continued with the program through graduation.

After graduating, I matriculated to the University of Minnesota, where I earned my degree in Mathematics and Actuarial Science with a GPA of 3.6. During my undergraduate years, I worked as a tutor in all levels of math and chemistry and also served as a Teaching Assistant for multiple courses. This included working as a Talented Youth Teaching Assistant through the MathCEP program (UMTYMP), where I taught pre-calculus to middle school students. I also became a Level III Certified Master Tutor through the College Reading & Learning Association.

My two years of experience as a Community Advisor and President of the Women in Mathematics Association help me show high school students how their math and/or ACT/SAT studies are relevant to college coursework, as well as the importance of developing excellent study habits in high school to ensure college success.

I completed my Master’s Degree in Mathematics for Teaching at Harvard University with a 4.0 GPA. My brilliant instructors and classmates helped me examine different teaching styles and revisit familiar math topics from a new viewpoint, adding even more skills to my toolbox that I can bring to students.

Fun facts about me: I loved Model UN in high school and pediatric volunteer work in college. I’m an avid traveler, have visited over 20 countries, and love discovering new restaurants and cafes along the way!
