Hello! My name is Erin, and I was born and raised in Saint Paul, Minnesota and graduated from Roseville Area High School. I attended the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, where I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary and Special Education with an emphasis in Specific Learning Disabilities. I furthered my studies by obtaining my certificates in Emotional Behavioral Disorders and Intellectual Disabilities. My studies took me abroad to Scotland, where I lived for three months and learned about Scotland’s education system while teaching elementary students in the classroom. This experience expanded my beliefs in education and my approach to teaching more holistically. Upon graduating, I accepted a full-time position at Wayzata High School as a Special Education teacher, where I taught for several years. While there, I co-taught Algebra 2 and a class on executive functioning skills. 

I take pride in working one-on-one with students to support their academic, emotional, and vocational goals. I believe it’s essential to build rapport with the students and families that I work with, maintain communication, and provide a positive learning environment. I am extremely passionate about supporting my students and providing them with the tools to be successful in and out of the classroom!

At Kay Tutoring, I am an academic coach, as well as a tutor for elementary and middle school students. I have years of experience working with elementary-aged students one-on-one, in small groups, and in typical classroom settings. I enjoy seeing the progress my students make toward their goals, as well as engaging them in their learning. I believe all students can learn and be successful individuals given the appropriate support!

In my personal time, I enjoy reading, running, playing soccer, and baking! I have participated in multiple half-marathon events, and it’s a life goal of mine to one day compete in a full marathon. I also enjoy coaching children ages  2-7 years old in soccer and seeing them develop.
